Forced Marriage (Episode 54)

Chapter 54

"Hey, what happened. What did he say,"Stephenie asked looking concerned.

"Nothing. He didn't explain."

"But why?" Kira asked.

"I don't want to hear it. Plus, I don't know what is going on between the two of them but one thing I'm certain about is that she's in love with Liam."

"So, why don't you ask him?"

"I just don't want to talk to him.... You know what. I've lost my appetite. I'm going home. You guys can stay and enjoy," she stood up and wore her jacket. "Bye," she said walking out of the restaurant and headed to the car. She sat at the back and looked at the pictures of her and Liam together. She felt a heavy heart following her. Not knowing what exactly to think about this situation.

A knock came on the window disturbing Ruby. It was Stephenie. She opened the door and got inside.

"Ruby..."

"What are you doing here. Shouldn't you be with Kira?"

"Ruby, you're our friend. And if one of us cry, we always cry together, remember. If you don't feel like staying, then it's fine. But don't cut us out. We're coming with you."

"Thanks Steph," she said feeling way better.

"But where's Kira?"

"She's inside waiting for the orders. It was her idea that she should spend the day together. So any ideas where we can go chill. I'm starting to freeze out here."

"Yeah, I have the perfect place. It has a hot tub...and other stuff too. Its usually a place where we spend during winter times with my family, but things are a bit different this year. I'm sure dad will agree and we can spend the weekend there."

"Now that's cool. I'll call mom and inform her about it. You stay here and call your dad, I'll go inform Kira in the meantime," she got out and went to the restaurant. It didn't take long before both girls returned in the car.

"I'm so excited guys. Did your dad agree?" Kira asked with anticipation.

"Yeah, we're on girls..." They all laughed.

...
"Kayler, what's up," Lauren looked at Kayler who was looking quite tired.

"Nothing much."

"Are the wedding preparation the ones tiring you out like this. I told you not to worry yourself about them," Lauren said referring to the core designers and the wedding planners.

"Yeah, kinder. Plus I'm having a bad feeling. I don't know what it or how to explain it."

"Kayler you need to shift those thoughts away. Your wedding is in a few days from now."

"Yeah, I know. Gosh, I wish things were much easier."

"They are easy, you need to chill girlfriend. Umm... How about we go to the spa tomorrow. Danny will stay with Aurora."

"Yeah, you're right. I need to cool down."

...
...
"It's good to be back home. Hi Dad," Ruby greeted looking at her father.

"How are you? And did you enjoy at the penthouse?"

"Yeah I did. And how are you guys here? You don't seem to have any festive looks." She added looking around the house.

"No, this year you will be spending the holiday in your own way. But we will gather at Lauren's house and at Ryan's wedding."

"So we're doing things differently. Sounds awesome. I'll go and change. Maybe we can play a game. Just like the old times."

"Sounds fun.," Harper responded with a smile while Ruby rushed to her room. She couldn't help but feel guilty for not answering a single call from Liam. Even though her friends were there to console her sadness away, she couldn't hide it for long.

A knock came on the door interrupting Ruby. She went by the door and opened it.

"So I was right that I heard your voice." It was Marcos.

"Hey, what's up? Anything interesting happening?" Ruby asked him.

"Not really."

"Okay then. I'll be out in a bit. I want to change."

"Yeah. Sure."
Ruby closed the door but before he could walk, another knock came in. He opened to see Marcos.

"Umm... Yeah.... Liam was her. He came looking for you several times," Marcos said then turned and walked away.

Ruby's heart skipped a beat upon hearing those words. She didn't think Liam would do that. He barely had to force him to come and now. He wasn't expecting that at all.

Immediately, she took her phone and dialled his number only to find it on voicemail. She took a deep breath and layed on the bed staring at the ceiling. Trying to avoid many thoughts but they just came back flushing.

She stood up headed to the closet. She selected a blue jean with black boots and a black warm fur coat. She immediately changed and headed to Liams place.

'Forget what happened, just take your, listen to him and fix the misunderstanding between us,' she told herself then got out of the car. She walked slowly towards the door and stopped. Taking a deep breath, she rang the bell.

Liam was the one who answered. He looked happy, like there was nothing missing in him.

"Hey, Ruby. Are you alright," he greeted her with a warm hug.

"Hi." she only responded not knowing what say exactly. "Umm.... I don't even know why I came, but I do have something to say."

"Yeah, you're are. I also want to talk to you. Come inside," he opened the door much wider.

"Hey Liam, whose at the door. I have been waiting for a while now," Ruby heard a familiar voice behind Liam.
