We arrived at my house and when we rushed to the door, it was locked.
Cindy ran out of their house when she saw me and came to us.
“Your dad is in there “ she blurted out and my heart skipped so hard I felt the pain.
“Bryan” I called, knocking the door.
I got no response so I moved away from the door to let the cops do their job.
They broke open the door and in there were Bryan and Caden.
They seemed fine and were seated on the couch like everything was fine.
I rushed to Caden and picked him up, taking him away from my dad.
“What are you doing here?” I snarled at my dad but he just smiled and kept his calm.
I see what he’s trying to do, he’s tryna play cool in front of the cops but I know him too well.
“Arrest him sheriff, he’s been harassing us, threatening us with harmful words and weapons “ I told the county sheriff but he just looked at my dad and wondered.
He’s getting to fooled by the innocent look in my dad’s face, damn!
“Sheriff, he’s just pretending, he’s capable of harming us so please take him away “ I told the cops.
“We can’t just do that ma’am cause there’s no proof against him but we can take him for some questioning “ the county sheriff blurted and I sighed.
“Seriously? He should be arrested and put behind bars! Fine! I want a restriction order on him” I said and my dad darted his gaze to me but I cared less.
“Get your lawyer for that “ the county sheriff said.
“Bryan, please tell them how he has threatened to harm us, tell them how éveil he is “ I urged Bryan but he said nothing.
The cops looked at Bryan, waiting for him to speak up.
“He doesn’t seem harmful in anyway, sorry Amy “ Bryan blurted out and I couldn’t believe my ears.
Is Bryan siding with him? No no, something is up.
“Ok sheriff, then why would anyone ask me to bring the cops because my dad is here?” I asked him and that kinda made him have a rethink.
“Who sent Miss Amy that message? “ the county sheriff asked, looking amongst me, Bryan and Cindy.
I knew it was Cindy the moment she ran to me to and said my dad was in the house but why isn’t she speaking up?
I glanced at her but she just looked away.
What the hell is going on? Why does everyone seem to be on his side now?
Luca just kept mute, watching the whole scenario.......not like there was anything he could do cause he barely knows my dad or even me.
“Sheriff just take him away, he’s a danger to us” I told him and he nodded.
“You’ll have to follow us to the station sir” my dad was told and he got up.
He glanced back at me with those innocent eyes that held nothing but evil before leaving with the cops.
I breathed a sigh of relief and plumped down on the couch.
“What was all that about? Why didn’t you both speak up? Why were you both so mute ?” I asked Bryan and Cindy.
“Bryan signaled me not to say anything “ Cindy blurted out and I looked at Bryan with a raised eyebrow.
“Your dad held us at gun point before you got here, he wanted to take Caden away but was waiting for you after forcing me to tell him you went to see Cody...” Bryan started.
“Surprisingly, you came with the cops and just before you guys could break the door open, he made us sit as if nothing was happening and he had already told us that if we say anything to the cops, he’d kill you “ Bryan narrated and I sighed more.
This is crazy.
“Is he gonna come for me cause I called the cops?” Cindy asked in a frightened tone.
“I don’t think he knows you were the one who sent the text so nope, he won’t but I’m not assuring you that” I told Cindy honestly.
She was scared cause she started trembling. Who wouldn’t be?
“Is there anything I can help with?” Luca who has been silent all through spoke up.
For a money, I’d forgotten he was there.
No one replied to his question cause we didn’t know the right response to his question.
“Well, I can help with the restriction order till you guys have proof against him” he said.
That would help a lot cause our safety is at stake and a restriction order is just a step to protection.
“Thank you so much Luca “ I told him and smiled.
“Ok now that he’s been taking to the station for interrogation, we can pack now” I told them and they agreed.
“You can use my car “ Luca suggested and I smiled at him.
He’s really trying to make up for hurting me I guess.
Bryan and Luca started taking the boxes we already packed up to the car while I gave Cody and Caden food.
The were done and after getting everything we needed, I locked the door and we left in Luca’s car.
Only Cindy stayed behind cause dad doesn’t know about her anyway so I don’t think she’s in so much danger.
My dad is sure gonna come back for us, he’d come here and I told Cindy that when he sees my dad out here she shouldn’t come out cause he has seen her face and he can question her and prolly hurt her if she refuses to answer him.
After a long drive, we arrived at our new home.
We unpacked everything to the house and Bryan and Luca helped me set the house.
Bryan and the kids went up to look around the house cause it was still big but not as big as ours.
Luca and I stood in the sitting room, not saying anything.
I tried stealing glances at him but his eyes were always fixated on me which means he’s staring at me.
I felt awkward that he was gazing at me and not taking his eyes off.
I needed to strike up a conversation cause the awkwardness was getting the best of me.
I couldn’t think of something good so I decided to ask if that bitch Riley.
“How’s Riley?” I asked Luca.
“Uhm, she’s fine” he replied and I smiled at him.
He took slow steps, coming closer to me and my heart standing besting fast in my chest.
Why is he coming closer to me?
I wanted too be farther as he came closer but that would be absurd so I stood my ground.
He got super close to me, his eyes peering into mine.
He lowered his face to meet mine and brought his face closer.
He glanced at my lips then back up to my face and slowly brought his lips closer to mine.
Omg! Is he gonna kiss me?
Are we gonna make out?
