We arrived at the hospital, paid the cab man and ran into the hospital.

We saw the doctor and ran to him.

"Yes doc, where is the person?" I asked him.

The look on his face was disappointing and I couldn't help but get worried.

"Is Cody fine?" I asked him and he nodded yes.

"OK so, what happened?" I asked him.

I was with her in my office and when an emergency came in, I told her to wait for me but when I got back there, I couldn't find her" he said.

"Her?" I asked and he nodded yes.

"How was she? Can you describe her?" I asked the doctor.

"We could just go take a look at the CCTV footage " he suggested and I nodded in agreement.

We checked the CCTV footage and I was kinda shocked when I saw Riley.

She lied she's my friend? Why would she do that? Why would she even wanna come see my baby?

First, she gets shocked when I said my Cody wasn't dead and now she's here to see him?

Bryan and I looked at each other, knowing fully well something doesn't feel right.

Why would she even run away if she didn't have bad intentions?

"Should we go ask her at Luca's company? I'm sure she'd be there" Bryan suggested and I nodded in agreement.

"No wait" I told Bryan when I remembered Luca’s words from earlier.

I can’t go there, I don’t wanna see Luca.

“What is it?” Bryan asked.

“I don’t think going there is a good idea “ I told Bryan.

“ what do you mean it’s not a good idea? We have a solid reason to go there and question her” Bryan stated and one again, he was right.

“We’ll ask her another day when we see her, going to the company to question her just doesn’t seem right “ I told Bryan.

“Please” I pleased with him when he insisted.

“Alright fine” Bryan agreed.

We all went to check up on Cody and after that, we left.

Bryan went home while Caden and I went to our house too.

I was at the porch with Caden, trying to open the door when I sighted Cindy from their window.

She smiled at me which made me look around for who she was smiling at cause I don’t wanna get it all wrong.

I looked back at her and she smiled at me then I scoffed.

The bish is smiling at me now? If she’s thinking I’ll just let it all go and be friends with her then she’s just deceiving herself.

I opened the door, threw her a deadly glare and carried Caden in.

We took a warm bath, changed into our pyjamas and ate a quick dinner that I made.

Caden and I went up to my room and we both laid on the bed.

He curled into my arms and I covered him.

I kissed his forehead and he chucked then I did it again and again and he kept laughing.

After a while, he kept tossing and turning and he got on top of me.

I smiled to myself an de made him lay comfortably on top of me.

Mins later, he was snoring and I placed another kiss on his forehead.

I gently laid him down on the bed and used the duvet to cover his legs.

I closed my eyes and off to dreamland I went.

I woke up the next day to my alarm and quickly did my morning routine.

I made a quick breakfast and went up to wake Caden.

I woke him up and took him inside the shower, bathed him and dressed him up for school.

It’s gonna be my first day at my new resto and I can’t be late.

I arranged his backpack and took him downstairs to eat.

I fed him and when he was done, he left in the bus after I gave him a kiss of course.

I dressed up, ate a little, grabbed my bag and went to the resto.

I arrived there and immediately opened the resto.

Instead of a notice board, there was a machine to just switch on and the top of the resto outside displays the words.

I placed a menu outside and a notice that we are giving out free food for today.

I went over the credenza to the kitchen and started making different dishes.

I also made sandwiches, harm burgers, pizzas, hot dogs and a lot more.

I’m sure gonna take a lot home to my Cody so he can eat and eat and eat till he’s so full he’d wanna throw up.

Customers started swooping in, who the hell doesn’t want free food?

Bryan came in with them and I sighed.

“I almost mistook you for a customer “ I told him when he came over to me.

He just smirked and said nothing.

“Is this a good time to show up at work?” I asked him with a stern look.

Well, I’m the boss and he’s just an employee though he’s also my friend but there are no friends in business.

“I’m sorry ma’am,it won’t happen again “ he said with a grin and I couldn’t control my smile.

“Now stop smiling like an idiot now lemme go take their orders and serve them” he said and I glared at him.

He chuckled and went to attend to the customers.

“Sir Luca “ I heard Bryan called out loud as if trying to gain my attention.

I looked up at saw Luca and Riley standing in front of Bryan.

Why the hell are they doing here? Luca glanced at me and our eyes met but I quickly looked away.

I don’t even wanna look at him.

I noticed Bryan was giving Riley stern looks and I remembered what happened in the hospital last night.

Now, she has to tell me why she went to see my brother, lied she’s my friend and why she left when the doctor asked her to wait.

“Hey Amy “ Luca said.

“Hey” I said, not even looking at him.

“So we decided to come taste your food since I heard you were starting today “ he blurted out.

Can he just get his ass outta my resto? Jeez.

He heard? Who the hell told him? But never mind that.

“Alright, have a seat here” Bryan told them and showed them an empty table.

“What would you like to have?” I heard Bryan asking Luca.

I couldn’t wait so I left the credenza and went over to them.

“Can I talk to you for a moment, Riley?” I asked her.

She glanced at Luca then back at me.

“Go talk to her “ Luca told her just before she could say anything.

“Uhm yeah sure” she said and followed me.

We went far away from Bryan and Luca.

“Yes? Why do you wanna talk to me?” She asked with a glare.

“Just shut the fuck hi and lemme do the talking” I snarled at her.

“Why did you go to see my brother at the hospital? Why did you lie you were my friend? Why did you leave when the doctor asked you to wait?” I fired at her.

She was kinda taken aback. Why? She thought we wouldn’t find out it was her? That’s why she left before we got there?

“Answer!” I snapped at her.

If this bitch doesn’t speak up, I swear I’m gonna pull her hair so bad she’ll need a doctor.

“I went to see your brother at the hospital cause Luca asked me to. I don’t care about you so why would I care about your brother? Plus, I don’t see anything wrong in telling the doc you’re my friend cause he refused to let me in and I left cause I got a call from my dad and had to leave “ She blurted out and left me speechless.

She doesn’t seem like someone who’d care about anyone except herself so why would she go on her own will to the hospital?

“Ok why would Luca ask you to go check up on my brother?” I asked her.

“Cause he care, I guess “ she replied.

“Fine then, I’ll go ask Luca about this” I told her and she was silent.

“And yeah, everything is wrong about you saying I’m your friend cause I’m not!” I stated clearly and turned to go ask Luca about it.
