Chapter 21 🌻

Bryan walked up and I gazed at him with furrowed brows as he took the way to my bedroom. 

He was sleeping in my room? 

I ran upstairs and went to my room. 

I stopped at the door when I saw Bryan and Caden sleeping on my bed. 

God knows I wouldn't spare Bryan if he was the only one on my bed but he was with Caden so I'mma let it pass.

I covered them with the duvet, placed a kiss on Caden's forehead and left the room. 

I went to Caden and Cody's room, freshened up and wore my pyjamas.

I laid on the bed, stretched and yawned before closing my eyes to rest.

I woke up, yawning and stretching on the bed. 

Gosh! I still feel sleepy as hell but I've got work to do. 

It's a Sunday morning and I guess we have to ditch church today again cause I have lots of work to do at the new resto. 

Bryan and I have to set up the resto. 

Speaking of Bryan, where the hell is he?

I got outta bed and went to do my thingy in the bathroom. 

I came out and went downstairs, hoping to see Bryan there. 

I looked around but didn't see Bryan so I went back upstairs to my room. 

"seriously? " I said and hit his butt. 

He was still asleep with Caden, the hell! 

My Caden can sleep longer but not this old  man. 

"Let me sleep " he groaned and I scoffed. 

"Hey Mister, this is my house not yours so get your dirty ass outta my bed " I snarled at him.

He didn't even reply so I rolled my eyes and went back downstairs. 

I made breakfast and went to freshen up. 

I got dressed and went to my room to carry Caden. 

I wokw him up and carried him to his room, leaving Bryan alome in the room. 

I took Caden into the shower, bathed him and brushed his teeth and wore him nice clothes. 

We went downstairs and ate breakfast. 

"I'm taking you to work today " I said and his face lit up with joy. 

"Really? " he asked, smiling ear to ear and I nodded. 

"Yes, we have a new resto and we have to go work on that so I'm taking you there to see it " I told him. 

"Is it big? " he asked. 

"Yup! Bigger than the old one and it's very fancy " I told him. 

"Yaay! " he said and started jumping. 

"slow down else you'll hurt yourself " I told him, still smiling. 

He didn't even listen cause he continued jumping so I had to get off the couch and carry him in my arms. 

"And guess what? " I asked him. 

"What? " he replied and I rolled my eyes. 

"Caden! When I say guess, I mean guess! " I seethed at him and he chuckled.

"OK fine, Cody is coming home? " he asked and just like that, the smile on my face faded.

"Uhhh, asking you to guess was a bad idea, I see " I told him and he smiled. 

"Well, your B-Day is coming up " I told him and his eyes widened with a dropped jaw. 

"Yes! " he exclaimed and I laughed out. 

My baby be so happy making me happy as well.

"Is Cody gonna celebrate with me? " He asked and I nodded yes with a drop of tear falling down my left cheek. 

He jumped up and hugged me. 

I hugged him so tight and kissed his cheek multiple times. 

"O... K? " We heard Bryan's voice and pulled away from the hug. 

I stylishly wiped my tears that had started falling before looking up at Bryan. 

"You're both awake and already dressed? " he asked and I chuckled. 

"I kept waking you up but you wouldn't wake up " I told him and he rolled his eyes and sighed.

"So what now? " he asked 

"So now we are going to work at the resto " I told him. 

"Damn! I'm hungry" he pouted. 

"Go serve yourself breakfast, eat and we go " I told him. 

"What about freshening up " he asked. 

"Are you really so dumb? Of course you'd go home after eating and come meet Caden and I at the resto " I told him. 

"So I can't take a bath here? " he asked. 

"No" I replied bluntly. 

He served himself breakfast and Caden and I waited for him to finish eating so we'd leave. 

He was done so he cleared the table and we all headed out. 

I locked the door and we went to catch a bus.

Bryan alighted at his house while Caden and I continued to the resto. 

"Wow" Caden let out just at the sight of the resto. 

"Wait till you see the inside, you gonna poo on yourself " I told him and he laughed out making me laugh as well. 

I opened the resto, pulled up the cover and opened the glass door revealing the inside of the resto. 

"Woah " Caden said as he ran in. 

"Be careful baby please " I told him and ran after him. 

The floor is so slippery and I don't want him falling on his face and getting hurt. 

I caught up with him and held him to me. 

"Don't run, okay? " I told him and he nodded, still laughing. 

If Caden is answering your questions and laughing then just know he's lying and the moment I let go of him he's gonna continue running and probably hurt himself. 

I carried him over to the credenza and made him seat on it. 

It's kinda high so he can't jump down. 

"Amy " he called and I chuckled and left him. 

I started by setting the resto the way I wanted it to look.

I set the chairs and table and when I was done, Bryan walked in through the door. 

"Oh wow, you're even almost done " he said and I nodded. 

"Go work in the kitchen while I continue here " I told him and he nodded and headed there. 

I noticed the smoothies with him but didn't ask if they were for us. 

"Here, little guy " he gave Caden one and placed the other on the credenza. 

Seriously? He's not gonna give it to me? I know it's mine and he's just tryna be stubborn. 

Caden started drinking his and Bryan went over the credenza to start his work. 

I sighed and went over to them, grabbed the smoothie Bryan had left on the credenza and started drinking it. 

"What the fuck? " Bryan blurted out and Caden laughed. 

"I knew it was for me and you were just being stupid "I told him. 

"What if I told you it wasn't for you? " he asked. 

"You can't " I told him. 

"Well, it's not for you " he said and I shrugged. 

I took the drink and went to continue my work.

"This is so stressful " I cried and laid on the floor with Caden and Bryan. 

We were done and before we'd leave, we decided to rest and my waist hurts a lot. 

After resting for a whole, we got up and left the resto. 

"Let's go to the park "Caden suggested. 

"No, I'm so tired, I wanna sleep " I told him. 

"Let's go please " he pleaded but I still gave him a no. 

He started crying, crying out loud that we gained everyone's attention in the bus.

OMG! He hasn't cried like this for a very long while. 

"Caden, shush! " I told him and he cried more. 

"Shut your mouth else I'll beat you " I told him in a whisper but he cried the more. 

The more I warned him to stop,  the more he cried. 

This boy really knows how to embarrass someone in public. 

"Fine! Fine we'll go to the park "I told him. 

"Now stop crying " I told him and wiped his tears. 

He started sniffing so I hugged him. 

We stopped at the bustop and waited for a cab. 

 Bryan couldn't help but stare at us, how Caden and I acted  which made me smile. 

We boarded a taxi to the park and we arrived there in no time cause we were already kinda close.

Caden insisted we go on a roller coaster ride and I didn't refuse cause I don't want him crying again. 

We had so much fun, bought snacks and ice-cream.

Bryan and I played with Caden, making sure he enjoys the day.

"Amy get me that candy" Caden pouted, pointing at a candy. Hi Stories Republic on WhatsApp plus two three four Seven zero eight six one nine six three six six

"OK fine! Stay here lemme go get it " I told him and left him with Bryan. 

"Give me a pack " I told the man selling the candy and brought out my purse to look for money. 

"Hey " I heard behind me and turned. 

It was Luca and I was so happy but I remembered last night and just composed myself. 

"Oh! Hey " I replied him. 

"You're here " he said and I nodded. 

You're here too " I said and chuckled. 

"Yeah, my sister insisted I took her and her kids to the park " he replied and pointed at a woman with kids. 

"She's pretty " I complimented his sister though I couldn't see her face clearly. 

I took my candy and paid the man. 

"So uhm, bye " I told him and turned to leave. 

"You don't have a boyfriend you said " he blurted out and I stopped on my track. 

He remembered that? OMG! He wants to ask me to be his girlfriend? 

"Uhm.. Yeah " I replied and turned to face him but he didn't even look at me. 

"You don't have a boyfriend but you're hoeing around with your cook " he blurted out and it was like my heart was pricked with needles. 

Me? Hoeing around? How can he say that? Why would he even think of something like that? 

Since I was born up till now, I haven't even dated anyone, I haven't even had my first kiss yet so how can he say that to me? 

His words hurt me so much that he left me speechless but he didn't even look at me to notice my tears. 

My phone rang so I turned away from him so he wouldn't see my face.

I stylishly wiped my tears and saw the call was from the hospital. 

"Yes doctor? "I said into the phone. 

"There's someone here, claiming to be your friend and wants to see Caden " the doctor said over the phone. 

"OMG! Don't let the person leave, I'll be there immediately " I said and hanged up. 

I didn't bother about Luca so I just ran to Bryan and Caden and told them what the doctor said. 

Bryan carried Caden and we ran out of the park. 

We boarded a cab and I gave Caden's candy to him. 

I was so disturbed, I couldn't think straight. 

Who the hell is that?
