I didn't wanna miss this opportunity, I'm already half way through this and I can't afford to back out now.
I called the hospital and luckily for me, the doctor picked up.
I heaved a sigh of relief before making to talk on the phone.
"Yes doctor? What is it? " I asked him.
"It's nothing serious so don't worry, it's just Caden and the school here, they came to visit Cody " the doc said over the phone.
"Oh! I'm afraid I can't make it there now, I have somewhere important to be " I told him.
"Alright, I'll tell them that " he said.
"Thank you " I told him and hanged up.
Phew! I almost vomited out my heart.
I glanced at Bryan and he looked away.
So weird!
We arrived at the company, alighted from the cab and went inside the building.
Twas just few cooks present and I presumed they were the winners in their group and we gonna be competing against ourselves.
Bryan and I found a seat for ourselves and sat, waiting for them to tell us why we were called here.
We were expecting the female speaker as usual but it was just an electronic device displaying the announcement.
The finale will be on Friday cause it was stated that we're not only gonna make one dish but two! And they're giving us Thursday to go prepare cause it's not gonna be easy.
It's not gonna be easy but it would be done and that too, by me.
Twas time for us to leave so Bryan and I got up to leave but we waited when we noticed Luca coming towards us.
He got to us and stood in front of us.
"Looking forward to see you win " he said and that made me smile like an idiot.
My Luca is hoping and trusting on me, he's talking to me now with a cool charming voice.
I noticed the way Bryan was glaring at him so I nudged Bryan gently on the arm so he'd stop doing that.
Bryan got upset and walked away but Luca seemed to care less.
"Luca! " A feminine voice screamed and we had to check out who it was.
Luca seemed shocked at first before the girl came jumping into his arms.
"Riley " Luca called as he pulled away from the big hug the girl gave him.
"Yep! You're happy right?" she asked.
"Yeah yeah sure " Luca blurted out as if forcefully.
She sighted me and threw me a deadly glare.
Srsly? She's making that rude face at me?
Judging from her looks, she seems like baaaaad news.
Her aura so bad I can sense it, eww!
"who's she? " she asked Luca and Luca glanced at me.
"Uh... "Luca stuttered.
"I knew it! She's one of those cheap girls who throw themselves at rich guys like you for money " she blurted out and I kinda like choked on my saliva cause I started coughing.
"What? You think you can seduce him and take his money huh? I know how to deal with girls like you" she snapped.
"Woah Woah Woah! Bish you've been yapping nonentity nonstop, please stop and catch your breath " I told her and she gasped.
"What the hell? Did you just talk back at me? " she asked and I scoffed.
"I don't see any senseless bish here apart from you " I told her with a calm voice.
Luca was flushed as he stared at me.
"You're gonna... "
"Oh please! I have important things to do than listen to some meaningless crap that comes outta your mouth! Bye Luca " I told him and cat walked out.
God! I just called Luca by his name, hope he doesn't disqualify me cause of that cause he can be so crazy sometimes.
I flinched a little when I saw Bryan waiting downstairs for me.
"I thought you left! " I told him.
"Well I did and this is my ghost waiting out here for ya " he blurted out and I rolled my eyes.
But he talked to me at least.
"Nice thing you did up there " he told me as we boarded a taxi.
"What thing " I asked him.
"You handling that girl " he said and I let out a soft "oh".
"You were there? " I asked him.
"Yeah I was taking a peek from afar " he let out.
"Why were you acting up today though? "I asked him.
"Uhhh... It's nothing " he said but it was obvious to me that he was lying.
"it's either you talk or get fired " I threatened him and he chuckled making me smile.
"Well, I just noticed you're fond of Luca, you like him " he said.
"So? " I asked, confused.
"Luca is not a good person! And I'm 100% sure that he's not the ideal guy for ya " he blurted out.
"O.. K? But why do you care? It's not like Luca and I are gonna have a chance together " I told him.
"Because I'm your friend so I care! " he snapped.
Alright Mr friend, I'mma be careful " I told him.
"I just don't want you to get hurt " he said and I smiled and patted him on the shoulder.
"I will. BTW, do you know who that girl is? The one who was with Luca and was yapping shit to me " I asked him.
"I don't but I'm guessing she's Luca's girlfriend " he blurted out.
"WTF?! She might be his sister too, duh " I told him and he gave me a look that says "what did I just tell ya ", I chuckled and raised a hand up and said "fine, I'll be careful not to get hurt ".

I was so surprised at Amy, didn't know she talked so much and she was that savage.
Wow, guess she only acts dumb in front of me but dang! I was there while she savaged Riley.
"Who's she ?" Riley asked again as we headed to my office.
"She's human " I replied her and she got more furious.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Tell me who the hell she is now! " she yelled.
And this is typical Riley, short tempered and never able to control herself, so annoying.
She's lucky she's one of my favorite humans else I'd not put up with her shit.
"Fine! Remember the competition I talked to you about? She's one of the competitors " I told her.
"OK so she's a cook" she said and I nodded.
"What's the name of her resto " she asked are I raised an eyebrow.
"why do you care? " I asked.
Riley can be nasty at times and do stupid things all the times so I don't know what's going on in that dumb head of hers. Hi Stories Republic on WhatsApp plus two three four Seven zero eight six one nine six three six six
"Nothing, I was just curious "
"I'm not telling you " I told her.
I don't even know why she came back from the the states, she should have just stayed there forever.
Don't even know how I met this kinda human in my life!
"Please..... Please tell me Luca " she pleaded with puppy eyes, coming closer to me.
"Tell me?" she said softly, gently caressing my hair down to my shoulder.
I held her hands and gently than ever, I dropped it off.
"I have somewhere important to be " I told her and left the office.

Luca left and I furiously hit my fist on the table.
Ouch! That hurts!
I sighted his laptop and went over the table to sit on the chair.
The laptop was locked but I know his password of course.
"Lurica" A combo of my name and Luca's.
I typed in the password and smiled deviously when the laptop was unlocked.
After months, Luca still haven't changed the password which means it's still just me and no other girl.
I just have to check out all the competitors that were present today and thank God their pictures are being displayed.
I scrolled through them and I smiled more when I saw that arrogant bitch that disrespected me.

I tapped on her profile and all her details were out.
