"It's OK Amy, everything is gonna be just fine " Bryan consoled me. 

"Yeah! That's what y'all say but you don't have the power to decide whether or not my Cody gets to die or live!" I yelled. 

"Just calm down" He said. 

The doctor came out of his ward and I rushed to him. 

"How's he? How's my Cody? Is he alive? Is he dead? " I asked the doctor. 

"Why aren't you talking! " I snarled when he didn't say anything. 

"Cody is fine " he blurted out and I felt my nerves relaxing.

I let out a deep breath and wiped my tears. 

OK, he's fine, my baby is fine. 

"What happened to him? " I asked the doctor. 

"Well, his system didn't actually take the morning treatment we gave him so it resulted to all these but don't worry, everything is in control now " he assured and I nodded. 

"Can.. Can I see him? " I stuttered a little. 

"Yeah sure but don't make any noise nor disturb him " he said and I nodded. 

I went into Cody's ward and sat beside him. 

I leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on his forehead. 

I knew my Cody would never leave me.

"Please stay alive for me Cody " I whispered into his ear. 

A nurse came in and told me its time for me to let him rest. 

I wasn't even disturbing him but OK. 

I left the ward and Bryan and I went home. 

I mean, to my house, Bryan followed me to my house. 

"You have a beautiful house and it's big " he said as we walked in. 

I plumped down on the couch and sighed. 

Now I lost the competition. 

"Can I make myself feel at home? " Bryan asked but I just rolled my eyes at him and said nothing. 

"I'll take that as a yes " he said and made his way to the kitchen. 

I could hear him opening the fridge, carrying the cookie container.

"OMG! " he screamed and I sprung up and ran to the kitchen.

Did he see something scary? 

"What? " I asked him when I got to the kitchen. 

"We didn't loose! " he said with so much bliss as he dropped the cookie in his hand on the table. 

I raised an eyebrow at him, confused.

"We didn't loose " he repeated and I sighed. 

"Yeah I heard that clearly.....we didn't loose what " I asked him. 

"We didn't loose the competition " he blurted out. 

"Wait what? We didn't loose the competition? How? So we won? " I asked and he laughed out. 

"Dummy! How can we win when we haven't participated yet? Duuuumbo " He bluffed and I rolled my eyes. 

"How do you know this? " I asked him and he pointed his phone at my face. 

I didn't get him so he sighed and asked me to go check my phone.

I went back to the living room and took my phone from the couch where I had left it. 

There was a new message from the company so I opened it. 

Only group 1 and 2 participated today so group 3 and the rest are participating tomorrow.

OMG! But how? They were gonna do it all at once! Then how? Wow! 

That means we still have time to prepare and win the competition. 

My lips curved into a smile and Bryan chuckled with cookies in his mouth. 

"You're happy now huh?" he asked and I just smiled and said nothing. 

Happiness will come if my Cody comes back to me.

"But how are you receiving messages from the company and not just me? " I asked him with furrowed brows. 

"I also dropped my contact info along with yours " he said with shrugged shoulders.

"Don't give me that look, we are both in this together " he stated and I just did the usual : rolled my eyes. 

"TBH, I never knew Luca can be so kind lol, when I saw him at the hospital earlier, he looked scary " Bryan blurted out. 

"Wait what? Luca Devon was at the hospital today? " I asked him. 

"Yep! You didn't see him? " he asked and I glared at him.

"Oh! You were busy crying with your eyes closed " he teased and chuckled to himself.

Thank you Lord for this, everything is working in my favour. 

Time flew, Bryan went home, Caden came back from school, we had our bath, ate and went to bed.

My alarm wouldn't stop buzzing sound I switched it off and took my lazy ass off the bed. 

PS : not lazy, I'm hard working and that's for sure. 

I bathed Caden, got him ready for school and made him breakfast. 

He went to school in the school bus while I went to do my own morning routine. 

I was done bathing and was dressing up when the doorbell rang. 

I hurriedly dressed up and went downstairs to open the door with my messy hair. 

"Seriously?" I snapped and rolled my eyes at Bryan.

I opened the door wide for him and he walked in. 

"Just because you now know my house doesn't give you permission to come here anytime you like! " I stated bluntly. 

"Oh please chill, I'm just here cause of the competition we have " he remarked. 

"Whatever! " I said mad went back upstairs to make my hair. 

I was done styling my hair so I went back downstairs to meet Bryan eating cookies AGAIN. 

I gave him a weird look but he just chuckled. 

"The cookies are so nice and delicious " he complimented. 

"Yeah! Now drop them " I seethed. 

"Let's go now so we'll be there early " I told him. 

"Aren't you forgetting something? " he asked. 

"What? " I asked him. 

"Food! Amy eat!" he blurted out. 

Oh jeez! Since Cody's been at the hospital, I'm so forgetful now and I can't even take care of myself properly. 

I went to the kitchen and ate from the breakfast I made for Caden. 

I was done minutes later so Bryan and I boarded a taxi to the company. 

We arrived there at 9:38am  and went to the hall where the competition will be held. 

Lots of cooks were already there and we are gonna be provided with the utensils we need. 

They are gonna set up a timer, ask a group to make the same dish during that time limit and the best cook wins. 

It's gonna be repeated all through the groups and the winners from each group will have to compete against themselves.

At the end, only the best three would be picked out and the lead winner will get the most of everything of course. 

I got my eyes fixed on the first position and I can already see that prize in my bank account.

All the cooks were ready and we all sat, watching the judges and Luca Devon take their seats on the high table.

Group 3 were called out and Bryan and I followed them up to the podium. 

A very big red curtain was pulled aside on the right side of the stage and it revealed a very broad kitchen. 

Everyone could fit in and there's a table for each in the kitchen. 

They asked us to take our places in the kitchen I.E : choose your table. 

A cooking gas and everything you need is on your table except any food recipe of course. 

"OK now, we are gonna tell y'all the dish you're gonna make and set up the timer. Once the timer goes off, you stop cooking and serve the judges your food so they can have a taste. Mind y'all, the judges are all cooks from different countries including Italy, Korea and China" The speaker ( a lady ) said. 

Bryan and I glanced at ourselves and swallowed up our saliva. 

"OK so this is the dish y'all gonna make " she started. 

My heart was already beating but not to brag, I'm a good cook. 

I could feel Bryan tense up as well as we waited to hear the dish.

"Y'all making 'Consommé' " She blurted out and I felt my heart in my mouth. 

What the hell? Consommé ? Consommé devilish dish? That's like the hardest dish ever!

Everyone started murmuring in the kitchen but the speaker ignored us and proceeded to the next part. 

"So now, grab your basket and go pick up your ingredients over there, a timer is also set for this so be snappy with it " she said and pointed at the small grocery store they made for us. 

"Do you know all the recipes? " I asked Bryan. 

"All? You should be asking if I even know one recipe " he blurted out. 

OK we're doomed big time!
