Forced Marriage (Episode 52)

 

Chapter 52

"Good evening everyone. Hope I'm not late?" Harper got inside followed by Marcos and Thomas. 

"Lauren?" Marcos greeted his big sister. 

"Little brother, how are you. I already see your looking stunning as ever."

"Well, when you're an uncle, you need to look your best. So you need to make sure that you groom well. You don't want your sister's kids running away from you." He prouded himself making everyone laugh. 

"Well then, let me hold that little pumpkin doll...," he said chasing Aurora around the house. 

"Okay, okay! That's enough now. Umm... Lauren, could you please call Danny for me. Everyone please, to the dining table," Kim called out and everyone followed while Lauren got out.

She could see that the laptop reflecting through the mirror. Unbelievably, she shook her head.

'Is he really busy with work? Now?" she asked herself getting closer. She knocked on the window and realised that Danny wasn't busy with work. He was watching the videos on the USB she had given him. 

Danny closed the laptop and wiped her face before ascending the window. 

"Everyone is waiting for you inside. What are you doing? Are you alright?" She asked in a soft tone seeing that he wasn't alright. 

"I'm fine Lauren. I was just watching the videos on the USB," he said getting out of the car and closed it. 

Lauren took a step getting back inside but stopped. Danny had held her hand preventing her from going any further. 

"Can we talk. For a minute?" 

"Umm... Yeah, sure." she turned giving him her attention. 

"I...don't even know where to start," he wiped his face feeling a little stupid. Suddenly, he felt a warm breath on his cheek.. He opened his eyes to see Lauren much closer to him. 

She kissed him on the cheek sending tiny small tingles in Danny. "You don't have to be shy with me anymore. As much as you need me, I also need you. Because no matter how hard I try... My heart will always beat. No matter how hard I try to stop myself from loving you, I'm just reminded that not even potions can stop the way I feel about you. Yes at first I might have said that you're a curse in my life. But it was a curse of love. Even today, I still go crazy when I see you, think about, because the love I have for you is undefined. I love you Danny. I love you. Now and always."

Danny pulled her more closer to him. Making their body interact, releasing all the heat within them. Before they knew it, they found themselves deep in each others breath. Their toungs twirling and swirling. 

Kim came out and interrupted them. A little shyness overwhelmed the two of them. 

"We're coming mom." Danny said chasing his mother away. 

Just the moment she left, Danny pulled Lauren right back into his arms. He gave her a small butterfly kiss on the forehead. Then let her go. But before she could walk anymore further, another car came. Lauren turned to see who it was,. But she didn't recognise the car. She waited only to see that it was Ryan and Kayler. A small smile crept on Lauren's face. She hasn't seen her best friend in like ever. 

She blamed herself for cutting the communication system between them. At the very moment, she was reminded of the good days where they would spend the whole day together. 

"Kayler," she immediately went to her and opened her arms for a warm hug while Danny greeted with Ryan.

"It's been so long. I've missed you so much much Lauren. Nothing is the same without you." 

"Yeah you're right. I'm sorry for my selfish behaviour. Can you be my best friend again." 

"Hell yes I'd love that." 

"And we have so much to talk about," she said pointing out to Ryan. 

"Haha, let's go. I'm so famished right now. Haven't eaten the whole day. And I can't wait to see your little girl. Aurora." 

A small laugh escaped the both of them as they walked inside with the boys behind them. It felt like old times in a better way now.

"Hey, wake up. You can't sleep now." 

"What do you mean by that kayler. Can't I sleep now?" 

"Yes." 

"Why?" 

"We're done with the game and you're already sleeping." 

"Then what. It has nothing to do with me. Plus, it's already late now." 

"Ahha... Boys." 

"Just come join me babe and stop making a big fuss." 

"So you decide to invite me now." 

"Come on babe, don't do this to me now." 

"I'm just kidding, now sleep properly. I'll go change in the mean while." 

"What are you going to wear?" 

"Sleep wear obviously. You said you're tired for any night games." 

"I can perform one," he smiled seductively. 

"Ohh really..." she bit her lower lip and looked at Ryan.

"You know, it's kinder weird that we get to share everything again." 

"Don't you like it?" 

"I've been yearning for it. I'm just wondering how it will feel." 

"Come sit with me here," Danny called out to Lauren and she did so. She sat right in front of him on the couch that was besides the window. 

"Just look deep into the stars. The give a path when you're lost. They tell a story. They bring imagination. They light in the darkness," he said cuddling her in his arms. 

It didn't take long before she fell asleep in his arms like a baby. She didn't even realise when she was put to bed. But she was sure glad to open her eyes in the middle of the night and see him sleeping besides her.
