Forced Marriage (Episode 49)

Chapter 49

Aaron looked at the men angrily. He felt betrayed by them. He anger boiled, wishing to beat the up to pulp. But here he was, made into the biggest fool ever.

"Okay everyone, the wedding is over. You enjoy yourselves inside just as planned," she said but most of them started leaving. Only a few were left and they helped themselves to food and drinks.

Jayden showed up. He didn't look that much surprised, instead, he felt like laughing himself. This man didn't belong to the industry of the riches and wealthies.

"Hey man, I see I'm already late and the party is over."

"Hi, Jayden right," Sidney was the one who replied on behalf of Aaron while he sulked on the chair.

"Yes, miss Sydney right?"

"You can call me Mrs Brooks now."

"My bad," he laughed remembering everything.

* Walking down the hall, was a beautiful, young, energetic lady. She walked in high heels taking the attention of many.

"Ahha... So much beauty." Jayden complemented looking at the fine young lady.

"Thank you. I'm looking for Aaron, have you perhaps seen him," she responded but her tone had anger when she asked about Aaron.

"I'm looking for him myself. But all I get are rumours about him, Marriage. I don't really know what to believe."

"So it's true that his still after that woman," she responded in harsh tone, showing unpleasantness for this news.

"You know the lady?"

"He is or was Mr Scott's wife. That what I found out."

"I know that lady. Apparently I'm a good friend of Danny. And this is disturbing news indeed," he wondered why Lauren would want to marry Aaron now.

"Well I have to go. Hopefully we'll meet again."

"Yeah, yeah. You are correct there miss..."

"just call me Sydney."

"Alright Sydney I'm Jayden," he said pulling out his phone. The news disturbed him a lot. He wondered what could be the cause of all this drama.

Two days had passed with Jayden still not believing the entire story about Lauren and Danny. He laughed at himself thinking that he had been this ignorant for too long. And he remembered Sydney's attitude towards the news of Aaron getting married.

Later, he bumped into Sydney again. She looked annoyed, angry as if she were about to bite someone's head.

"You're looking scary right there miss."

"Ohh sorry, it's just that things are bit complicated at the moment."

"You mean Aaron and the wedding."

"NO, NO. It's something else," she shook his head in denial.

"There's no use it hiding it from me miss Sydney. See, I can help you get Aaron. Moreover, you can find yourself wedded to him. All you need is to assist me with it."

Sydney looked at Jayden in the eye. "Alright. There's nothing to lose after all. So what's the plan, Jay."

"Glad you agreed, the wedding is in two days from today. I'll drive Lauren to the venue, but will not reach the venue..."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I'll take a turn and enter the city. The other drivers will be chasing me, meaning we have to be quick. Once I reach the packing lodge, I'll exchange cars, meaning..."

"I have only seconds to get inside the car. When the others arrive, they will find me instead."

"Correct. Get yourself a wedding dress. And make sure you cover your face with a vail."

"Sounds like a plan Jay. And don't worry about the drivers, they will obey me. I'll wait for your call," she said then left with a more relaxed face. Not only was it love, but also revenge for taking all Amber's property. *

"Well congratulations, Mrs Brooks. Hopefully I will be seeing the two of you again." He grabbed a glass and poured champagne then left the venue just like that.

"Thank you for the support everyone," Sydney said looking at Aaron whose head went nuts.

...
...
...
Lauren woke up and showered. She couldn't wait to go back home. She wore the dress Jay had bought, and it fitted her perfectly. But all her attention was getting back to her daughter.

She imagined how she was going to hug her. How much love she was going to shower her with, and remind her each single day that she is special.

The phone rang and she immediately picked it up. It was Jay calling her. She answered and without wasting time, she headed out of the hotel.

"Hi," she greeted getting inside the car.

"Morning. Hopefully I didn't arrive early."

"No, that's perfect. I can't wait to see my daughter again. It feels like I haven't seen her in ages."

"Mm... Do you if I ask why you and Danny broke up. You guys are a good match."

"It's complicated. I really don't know what happened but I couldn't help it. It wasn't made for me."

"I'm guessing that's another reason for Amber's death."

"Amber's death? But when I left she was still alive." She looked at her questioningly.

"You see, Amber and her sister are not so much alike, they both get what they want want in the end. And you, leaving Danny was her mission."

"But how does that explain her death?"

"She was killed. By Danny. That very moment you left the building, she too was killed. Yeah. Both of them archived their missions but didn't at the same time."

"I wasn't told about that."

"I just found out recently. I wasn't aware much of the drama happening here. After I heard about your wedding with Aaron by Amber's sister, I decided to do a little investigation first. And since she's obsessed with Aaron, she agreed to help. It made things much easier."

"Well you didn't quite make it easier for my stomach," she giggled.

"Well I'm sorry about that. We restless drivers tend to forget that we're going with fragile snails with us."

"Ha ha, laugh all you want," she said looking at the road this time. She hadn't felt this good in a life. Life in her was slowly regaining itself. She looked more lively than before.

In no time, they had reached the home. The very same home where she first met him. All memories of the past flushed back in her mind.

"Are you okay?" Jay asked seeing that she had been holding her breath for a while now.

"Yes, I'm just excited that's all."

"You better get inside. I'm sure she's waiting for you."

"Yeah, you are right. Thank you."
