Forced Marriage (Episode 48)
Chapter 48
"It's Lauren Danny," she replied with a soft voice making Danny stop everything she was doing and focus on the call.
"Lauren... Is it really you?"
"Yes. Aurora?" She asked.
"Ohh yes. She's fine. We managed to get there on time before the fire could reach most of the things inside."
A tear rolled down Lauren's face realised that it was a matter of time. At the same time she thanked God for the decision she had taken. Though she didn't like it a bit at first, she was thankful that she fought of her pride and did what's right for her child.
"Lauren, tell me. Where are you? And how did Jayden manage to find you?"
"I don't know where I am right now, but Jay brought me to a hotel at the moment. Um.. Danny, can I talk to her."
"I'm not home at the moment, I'll tell Melo to call you on this number. If its fine with you."
"Yeah, that's not a problem," she hung up and waited for Jayden to return. It didn't take long before he returned. His atmosphere was a pleasant one. Bringing smiles and laughter. Lauren could tell that this person loves making jokes, flirting in a funny way.
""Umm... I can't drive the whole night Lauren, plus I have something to take care of first. I've booked a room for you," he said scratching his head with a smile.
"Thank you Jay. Truly."
"Yeah... Ohh and here, in case you want to make a call. I'll return in the morning," he handed out a phone and the keys of the room to her. She took the things and got ou of the car.
Standing by the door, she looked at herself and the wedding dress she was wearing. A little embarrassment and awkwardness flashed on her face.
....
....
Aaron stood there with all his patience drained. His bride was no where to be seen. Not a single car has returned. The time of the wedding had started.
He stood there looking like a fool, with people gossiping and ears all over. Suddenly the cars returned. He released a little pressure but noticed that the was one car missing.
He shook his head in denial while one of the drivers approached him and the rest stood at the back and waited nervously.
"My apologies sir, we had a little problem along the way. But everything is fine now," the man apologised nervously, but there was still anger in Aaron's eyes.
"Where is my bride?"he asked with his cold icey tone.
"She's in the car sir. You can continue with the wedding procedures, I'll bring her," he said wiping the sweat of his face.
"Alright. Hurry, I don't want to wait another second. You've already embarrassed me enough."
The driver went back to the car, and as said, he brought the bride and left her at the alter then returned to the rest.
They all stood there watching, not knowing whether it was going to be funny, or it will be their own death. Though they had thought of many perfect excuses, they still showed more worry. They knew that he was a mad man because of love. Sometimes they would feel pity for him, but other times they'd claim that he deserves this punishment.
...
...
Taking a shower, Lauren felt more alive, more lighter. All those heavy burden had been lifted off her chest. Her skin gained a bit colour. She managed to eat something. Now all she waited was a call of her life.
A knock came on the door interrupting her. A little panic attacked her. Though she had left Aaron's house, she still felt unsafe.
"Room service." She heard a voice and calmed down. She stood up and opened the door. A lady stood there. She remembered that she saw her at the reception. She smiled at Lauren and handed out a box to her. Lauren looked at her questioningly.
"Ohh, sorry. The man who booked the room said I must give you this."
"Thank you," Lauren responded warmly to her and went back in.
A note was placed on the box. She took it and read it. "Sorry, I don't know your size. Hope this one fits and makes you comfortable."
She smiled at the note and looked at the dress inside. She placed the box aside when she heard a vibration. She looked at the phone and answered and kept quiet for a little while.
"Miss Lauren. Its Melo," she said.
"Melo. Hi. Hello," how are you? "
"I'm good, wait, here is is Aurora,"she handed out the phone to her.
"Baby?"
"Mommy," little Aurora responded enthusiastically.
"How are you baby?" She asked holding her mouth avoiding any trembling.
"Mommy... Miss you."
"Miss you too baby. I miss you much."
Aurora handed back the phone to Melo. "Miss Lauren?"
"Thank you so much Melo. I owe you my life."
"It's not necessary. I'm just doing my job."
"Are you staying at the mansion."
"No, it's just a medium house compared to the one that I first met you. There's also an elder lady who comes here and helps me with Aurora. I don't know whether I should trust her or what," she asked with concern.
"That's Mrs Hughes. You can trust her with all your heart Melo," she said assuring her with all her heart.
"Alright. I was starting to get worried because Aurora is starting to get attached to her."
"Mrs Hughes is family to us. Even if you wish to go out, you can leave Aurora with her."
"Alright."
....
Aaron saw the shock of his life when he removed the vail from his bride. The woman she just got married to wasn't the very same woman. His temper changed. His aura became cold, icey. His blood was had reached the boiling point within seconds.
"Hello Aaron, I hijacked the bride and now I'm your wife," she whispered with a wicked smile.
"What are you doing here. You're not my wife. Lauren is!" he vainted out his anger in front of the whole crowd that stood there and watched.
"The ring, doesn't say so. Let's just say I've adopted the name Lauren Stenberg for a while. So consider me as your wife, because I'm not going anywhere Aaron."
"What the hell!!! Where is Lauren!?" he screamed vandalising everything at the alter and looked at his man who didn't know how to react.
"Screaming at your man won't help. You just need to sit down and let me tell you the whole story."
"Shut up!! Shut up you psycho."
"MY NAME IS SYDNEY, AND YOU ARE NOW MY HUSBAND. GET IT," she pointed out a gun at Aaron with a smile at his head.
"I don't get why you want to denie all this. Didn't I tell you before that I will wint in the end. And did you probably think that you would own everything my sister Amber owned. Just like that. You really don't know us. But that's not the case now. My love always wins. So I won't bother to kill you."
Everyone laughed at the knew drama that was happening in in front of them.
"And if you do anything crazy, I'll show you how crazy I can be. All those standing there are my men. The very same men you took from my sister. They are now mine," Sydney said pointing out to the men who were driving the cars that were supposed to bring Lauren.
