Forced Marriage (Episode 45)

Chapter 45

"Good, that's what I wanted to hear. I'll send a driver to pick you up." He hung up making Lauren shed more tears.

Immediately she got out of bed wiped her tears, put on a serious face but more tears rolled down. Again, she wiped her face and got out, with Ruby at her back while her family looked at her with shock.

She walked as if nothing had happened. As if everything was just the way it was. Though she looked a bit pale with dark circles around her eyes showed nothing but anger and determination.

...
"Have you find out why Aaron kidnapped Lauren's child and the nanny?" Kayler asked looking at Danny.

"He want Lauren to marry him."

"By force?" Again she asked.

"I get the idea Kayler. There's no need to remind me of it."

"Don't worry. I wasn't reminding you. I just realised that you and Aaron are much more alike than I thought," she looked away angering Danny.

The room became silent for a while with Liam not knowing what to do or expect. He wasn't used to.

"Don't you think that we should find Aurora first before we could make any movement. Her safety is the first priority." Liam suggested breaking the silence in the room.

"Yeah. I agree with you kiddo," Kayler looked at everything as if she was about to burst them out.

"Yes, but it's going to be a bit tougher than we expect," Danny added.

"What do you mean?" Kayler asked.

"Aaron managed to get all access to Amber's positions, money, meaning he has power on his side. So it won't be easy. And I don't think he is keeping Aurora in this city. We would have found her by now."

"So it's settled, we find Aurora first. Liam, you and my sister need to keep me updated on Lauren's movements, called everything. We'll deal with the rest."

Everyone nodded and departed into different directions.

...
A knock came on Aaron's door surprising him to whom could it be. He called the workers to go and attend to who ever was knocking.

He sat there as if he were waiting for the crown to be placed on his head. As if he were waiting for someone to appoint him as the new king of the world.

"My apologies sir, but there's a woman who is here to see you."

"Did she perhaps tell you her name?" he asked feeling annoyed that they were now interrupting his silent moment

"Lauren. Miss Lauren," she respectively said taking all his attention towards the door.

"That's is my future wife and the lady of this house." He looked at the worker as if he were about to chow him into crubs and bones.

"My apologies again, I didn't know. I'll let her in immediately," she quickly ran and invited her in with all due respect.

"Here comes my wife." Aaron said looking at Lauren with pride. He opened his arms for a hug only to get a cold shoulder from her.

"Maybe that's too soon. Ohh it's good to see you. This actually calls for a celebration."

"I'm not here to celebrate with you Aaron. If you want me to marry you, then let me see my child." She demanded taking off her sunglasses.

"You know I can't do this right." He said returning to his sit. And held the glass of alcohol in with his right hand twirling it.

"Then I'm sure Mr Scott would love the news that I was pregnant with his child and you kidnapped his only daughter."

"You can try... I don't care," he looked at her with angry eyes pulling her closer to his body.

"Look Aaron, I just want to see my child. If that's not the case then there will be no wedding. I'm asking you..." a tear rolled down her cheek unable to control herself. She pulled herself away from Aaron's arms and looked away.

"Fine.  Come on, let's go," Aaron said grabbing the keys and led the way out.

Lauren's eyes were so eager to see her daughter that she agreed to let Aaron blindfold her so she wouldn't see the location she was in. All her concentration was on what she was going to see. All that mattered was her daughter, to see her unharmed.

"You can remove the blindfold now," Aaron told Lauren just the moment the car came to a stop. Immediately, she removed it and gazed around. Again, she remembered to not provoke Aaron or her daughter would be the one to pay the price. She smiled but it faded within seconds.

Her heart started to pound heavily, sensing unpleasantness in the her expectations. She stood frozen for a minute before she continued walking inside.

She met with Melo's eyes. She looked frightened, scared but revealed upon seeing Lauren.

"Ma'am, I'm sorry..."

"It's okay. Whereas my daughter?"

"She's in the other room. She not well. She has been having a high baby fever for the last few days... And the medication is not working..." she hesitanted, her hands shaking together with her voice.

"Melo! It's not your fault."

Lauren took Aurora in her hands. Just as told, she had a fever. She removed the cloths she was wearing and let a little cold breeze run through her while wiping her with a wet cloth.

"Aurora, baby. It's mommy. Mommy is here now. Everything is going to be okay baby. You know she will do anything for you right right, even if it means sacrificing my happiness, I will do so, you know why. Because mommy loves you..." she whispered slowly in her ears.

She looked at her, her eyes. She could tears. She could tell that her daughter was crying.

"Melo? did she eat?"

"Not much, she refused to eat."

"Please bring me something warm and her medication. I will try something." Just as said, she left to do as told.

"Aurora baby, make up my angel, please wake up."

Little Aurora burst into tears in Lauren arms. She held her tight in her embrace. Seeing how her daughter was, she couldn't leave her. Even though Melo was a good Nanny, the child needed her parents.

Lauren brushed her until she kept quiet. She could see how scared her daughter was. Immediately, she brushed that fear away from her. Showing her that she would protect her no matter what.

"Here," Melo brought a tray with food in it. She placed the tray on the table and walked away to give Lauren privacy.

"Melo wait," she called out and Melo took a pause.

"Look Melo, I'm really sorry, so sorry I got you into this mess... I let my ego took the best of me and now, you're stuck in mat that do not even include you in them..."

"It's fine ma'am really."

"No Melo. It's not fine. What I did here was wrong. I left help trying to protect my daughter and didn't notice that I was the one putting her in danger. I let my ego and pride took the best of me. I was trying so hard to not break my heart again that I didn't notice I was isolating a father and a child. It is all my fault that you really in this situation. If I had just accepted the truth from the start, then none of this would have happened. I'm really sorry and thank you for taking care of my child. I'll surely get you out of here. Even if it means sacrificing me, then I'll do so. Thank you so much."

"It's okay miss Lauren. One thing that I know is Aurora is an angel."

"Melo you need to listen to me carefully..."
