The Dark Valley (Episode 45)

* THE DARK VALLEY *

                     { Chapter 45 }

          "Do you listen to what I say or do in my room back in the palace ", I asked curiously.

            "I tried do that but I couldn’t hear a thing ", he said sincerely.

  

         I let out a big relief, at least our secrets are save.

           I don’t want him to hate me for that. I just recently got his trust and I don’t want to lose it yet.

           "How old”, he asked.

             "Huh?", I replied confused.

            "How old are you today ", he asked in details.

            "Am 18", I said with a bright smile.

           "You are still a little human ", he said rubbing his hands on my hair.

             "Am not little anymore, now I can taste alcohols, try out smoking and watch sex related movies ", I said in happiness.

         "Ohhh you just became an adult today ", he teased me.

          "Stop teasing me and by the way how old are you ", I asked.

        "Well am 5120 years old ", he said.

           My jaw dropped. I never really expected him to be this old.

          "Don’t be shocked, approximately right now am 20 years of age ", he tried to make fun of me.

            "You are still an old man and I can’t believe am friends with an old man ", I also teased him.

         "Which means I will be deserving more respect from you huh?", he said.

         "You don’t get respect like that you have to earn it ", I smiled before taking the food from his hands and sat down to eat it.

         

          He smiled at me and called out astroid.

         He whispered something into astroid ears.

     

            "I have to go do something important “, he said about to leave right after astroid had left.

          "Are you going out of the house ", I asked.

            "No,I just want to arrange for some things. If you need me just call out to me", he said and walked out.

       After eating I just sat on the bed staring outside the window.

          I was getting bored and I really missed my friends.

           If they found out I was gone what are they going to do.

        I hope nothing will happen to them since they are in the hands of Alkil and Astrain.

             After a while of boredom and restlessness, Draphel finally came back.

        "I can see you are bored. Come on let’s get you dressed up ", he said as he handed a dress to me.

        Before I could protest he pushed me to the bathroom.

            "You haven’t explained why we are here ", I said as I entered the bathroom.

            "After you have take a bath then I will tell you ", he said as he jammed the door of the bathroom leaving me inside.

       I took my time to look around the bathroom as I bathe. The water here cooler and relaxing than the one in the palace .

        I made sure to savor and enjoy every soothing feelings I felt while bathing.

         After I was done bathing I found Draphel waiting for me.

  

       "Come sit here”, he said standing in front of a seat which was in front of a mirror.

       "O…okay ", I said as I walked to sit.

       As I sat down he began combing my hair but I pushed his hands off.

        "You shouldn’t do that your majesty ", I said respectfully.

         "We are not in the palace so no need to be formal. In this place I want you to see me as your friend not the king ", he said  and continued combing me hair.

      

       After a long while of silence he finally spoke.

         "We had to escape from the palace because Alkil and his father had plotted to kill me ",he said while rubbing jelly on my hair.

       

      The way he combed my hair could feel butterflies bubbling up in my stomach. I couldn’t get enough of this feeling so I just relaxed and kept enjoying the feeling I was getting from this place.

       "You are an immortal and can’t die. So why would you run away ", I asked.

         "They had lots of guards prepared to attack us and I don’t want to lose any of my loyal guards yet", he said as he split my hair into two.

         "But you could have asked them to escape and you could single handedly handle them since you are powerful ", I said.

     He smirked and said," you think they wouldn’t come fully prepared to attack me........there is a particular rear stone the weakens me. It renders me useless which means they will have more advantage to chain me down forever in a dungeon ", he said and braided my hair.

       "But still what does that have to do with me “, I asked.

      "Well Alkil has his plans to forcefully get married to you while his sister had some stupid plot with her father to secretly have you killed which am sure Alkil is unaware of it", he said.

       "But how long are we going to be staying here “, I said.

       "We can’t stay here for long because I need to get married before Alkil does so I can take what belongs to me back ", he said determined.

         "How are we going to do that”, I asked.

        "Don’t worry about that leave it to me. Am done ", he said as he let go of my hair.

         

       I finally looked at myself in the mirror after a while and noticed the difference in my looks.

        I looked ravishing and beautiful, the style of my hair was a perfect fit with the cloth.

       

           "Wow”, I said admiring how beautiful I looked in the mirror.

         "Do you like it”, he asked smiling.

         "I love it”, I screamed in joy.

        "Good then come with me “, he said.

        "Where are you taking me to ", I asked curiously.

        "It’s a surprise, just come”, he said pulling me by my hand out of the room.

  

       I followed him impatiently curious to know what the surprise was all about.

 

       **************( Patricia’s POV )****************

       Today is my sister’s birthday and am so excited and happy. I have lots of plans and exciting things to do today.

       I need to dress beautifully today to show Anthony how pretty his girlfriend can be.

        

       I got dressed as early as I could to prepare for the long day ahead.

         As I got downstairs I waited and waited for Anthony to come but he did not show up.

        "Mom isn’t Anthony coming today “, I asked mom after waiting for hours.

          "He has come this morning and left early because he had some important things to attend to”, her mother replied.

      "At least couldn’t he just inform me", I said as tears swell in my eyes.

      "He said he doesn’t want to disturb you ", her mother tried to persuade her.

        "But couldn’t he call me at least later ", I began to sob.

          "Dear am sure he has his reasons ”, mom tried to calm me down.

        Ever since what happened yesterday, Anthony seems to be avoiding me and I don’t know why he was acting that way.

    

      I just sat in spot during the whole event wondering what I had done to Anthony for him to keep avoiding me this way.
