Forced Marriage (Episode 40)

Chapter 40 

Lauren entered to see everyone staring at her while Ruby held Aurora in her arms. More shock enveloped in everyone when they saw the child.

"Lauren," Her mother called standing up to hug her.

"Ruby?" Kim questioned herself looking at little Aurora in her arms.

"Good evening everyone," Lauren greeted but everyone seemed to have their eyes around Aurora.

"Dad," she greeted him with a hug and Harper afterwards. 

"How are you child?" 

"I'm fine and you?"

"It's good to see you." 

"Everyone, this is my daughter. Aurora," she smiled looking at their confused faces.

"Did you get married again," Lauren's mother asked.

"No, she has Danny's eyes and nose," Kim commented on behalf of Lauren while taking the child off Ruby's hands.

"Dinner is served, little Aurora is not going anywhere," Harper said and Thomas agreed on that.

Kim looked at Harper. He didn't look surprised at all. Moreover, it looked like he was glad. "Harper, you knew from the beginning. Right?" 

"I'll explain later. Now let's go." 

Everyone headed to the dining table with Lauren and Marcos left behind. He looked a bit upset, confusing Lauren, and in no time, she understood why he was angry. 

"Aren't you going to greet your big sister?" 

"Why should I, you left here angry and you didn't even bother to say goodbye, nor call to check on me."

"I'm sorry. It was wrong of me as a big sister to treat you like that. Please forgive me."

"Okay. Next time give me a warning." He smiled looking at Lauren.

"Let's go eat. I heard they made everyone's favourite food. Then later you can help me with Aurora."

"Okay. Congratulations by the way."

"Mm.. you're acting like an uncle already?" She rubbed his hair.

"Responsible and caring."

... 

"Hey, you came," Kayler greeted Ryan.

"Yes. I actually came for the rumours about Lauren's return." 

"I heard. But Lauren and I haven't spoken in two years."

"What happened? You didn't tell me that." 

"Lauren found out that I knew about the what so ever between Danny and Amber. I tried to talk to her but she cut me off."

"Mm... A double plan gone wrong and right at the same time."

"What do you mean by double plan?"

"Amber set out a plan with Aaron. Where Lauren was supposed to see Amber seducing Danny, at the same time Danny met with Amber to kill her."

"So you mean to tell me that Lauren saw what Amber and Aaron planned and just the moment she left Danny killed Amber? Wow, what a catastrophe. But why didn't you tell me all this earlier, none of this could have happened," She complained.

"Doesn't matter, it's in the past. That man has been a living but dead inside. I managed to get Danny to return home. Tonight."

"With Lauren at the dinner party. I see where this is going. So what's the plan?" She smiled looking at Ryan. Thinking that this is the least he could do for betraying her friend.

Walking down the hallway, Lauren came to a stop in a certain door. It was the door filled with many memories. The very same room where she got her first kiss. And the very same room where she spent some unlikely days in. She held the door knob and pushed it open.

Everything was well kept like someone was already staying in the room. She entered inside walking slowly like she was studying the place. With memories running around the room. Her mother stood by the door and watched her while she memorised the whole place.

Turning towards the door, Lauren came across her mother's eyes. She let out a sight knowing that she was now starting another argument with her. 

"You really don't want to talk to me right. But I'll ask anyway. Was there a need for you to hide the pregnancy?"

"You'd you have let me leave if you knew?" She questioned back.

"Ofcause not. We could have find a solution together as a family."

"What? Force me to get back together with Danny. I saw him with my own eyes with his girlfriend having the time of his life while I was sick. What do you expect me to do. Sit down and smile?"

"No, you could have asked him and talk first."

"Then what?"

"The child needs a father Lauren. You can't protect her alone. Soon she will ask who her father is. What will you tell her?"

Lauren kept quiet for a while.

"Well then Lauren, Danny is here. What are you going to do about it now."

"What do you mean by Danny is here?" Lauren asked with panic in her face.

"He's outside."

Not believing what she was being told, Lauren stormed out of the room and went to Ruby's room taking Aurora in her arms. Her heart accelerated. Unable to process nor think. All she wanted was to get out of the house without being seeing by Danny. Let alone, she didn't even know how she would react upon seeing him.

"Lauren what do you think you're doing to you and your child," her mother asked following her behind. Begging her not to do all this stubbornness. 

"I'm leaving, can't you see that," she said in an angry, harsh tone while taking Aurora's things.

"Let the child stay if you don't want to. It's not necessary to punish the child. Please Lauren."

"I'm not leaving my child here. I can take care of her just like I did in the past two years." She stormed out with her mother trying all her best to stop her. But Lauren's stubbornness was too strong, not getting out of her.

Kim joined in trying to stop Lauren while Harper and Thomas watched. Kim looked at Harper for long. Seeing that he wasn't worried, she held Lauren's mother begging her to calm down. 

Opening the door, Lauren met with Danny's eyes just as he was closing the door of the car. She came to a stop and looked at him. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Unable to maintain herself awareness.

"L...La... Lauren?" Danny mumbled upon seeing her. At the same time, many questions enveloped inside of her as she looked at the child she was carrying in her hands.
