Forced Marriage (Episode 37)
Chapter 37
Lauren gave of a sight and looked at the window. She hadn't thought about the baby yet. And now that things were in this condition. She was reconsidering about ever talking about it
"I don't. I'll figure it out," she replied.
Harper drove Lauren straight to the hotel she wanted to go. She refused to go to her house, nor her parents house. She didn't want to explain herself anymore. She just wanted time to herself. Time to think and make a decision.
The pain she was feeling was beyond her expectations. She had seen heartbreaks on media, but never thought that it was this bad.
....
Danny came out of the building wiping his hand. He came across Aaron standing outside his car. He came to a stop and looked at Aaron who started to approach him.
"It's nice to see you again Mr Scott," he said looking at Danny.
"If you're tired of living, tell me. I'll make it easier and faster for you." His tone deep, harsh. The atmosphere covering up with wind blowing in all directions.
"I have something to show. Your wife and I had a lovely night." He took out his phone and showed her a video of the time when he hugged Lauren and when they went to the car.
His aura changed that very moment. Turning the ground into ice with his coldness. He threw the phone on the ground hard.. His anger relevant.
"There was no need to throw my phone. I told you, the girl is mine Scott. She belongs to me. Only me!" Aaron's voice went deep, harsh, cold. He stood just before Danny's eyes. Showing that he too was capable of taking what once was his.
Before he knew it, Danny's hands was already around Aaron's neck. Strangling him. He chocked, unable to breath properly.
"Didn't I tell you. If you want to die, just ask. I'll do so without hesitating." He pushed him off the ground and walked away.
Getting home, Danny found Kim pacing back and forth. She looked stressed.
"Ohh here you are. Are you satisfied with what you've done. Should I be congratulating you for a job well done, because certainly, you're good at that. Tell me, what did that girl ever do to you. I didn't teach you to treat a woman like this. This is such a disgrace. I keep chanting about relationships, how to a life. How to treat others. But here is my own son making a joke of my words," she sat down unable to speak anymore.
Danny' turned to see Ruby sulking sitting down on the corner. She was unhappy. He questioned himself on what could have happened while he was gone. He walked past them to his room only to find everything there on the floor.
"Lauren?" He called out but there was no answer. "Lauren!" He called out again.
"Lauren is gone Danny. She left. Didn't you hear what mom was talking about. You've hurt her, and now. She left. She took her stuff and dad drove her home." Ruby was the one who replied standing, leaning on the door.
"Even I agree with mom. What has she done to you that you'd hurt her like this...."
"Ruby, you're too young to understand this." He pointed out, his tone deepening.
"Yes I'm young, but I'll still say it Danny. You're treating Lauren like she's a piece of shit or something I can't explain."
"Ruby shut up! Shut up!" He shouted at her but she refused to do so.
"I won't. You're treating her bad. Firstly you don't sleep here. You leave her alone without even a message. She even tried to apologise for something she didn't do, and what did you do. You made her look like a fool in front of father when she prepared something that doesn't taker even 5 minutes of your time. She's been sick, vomiting, unable to eat properly because of stress, and you're always not there. You told Liam that you don't want him to treat me like shit and what do you do, you treat your own wife like rubbish brother... "A slap went across her face coming from Danny.
"You know what, I think Lauren made the right decision by leaving you." She left making Danny throw everything on the floor violently. He hated that she was right. All she had said. He was unfair to Lauren. Angrily, he took his car and drove off.
...
Standing at the front of of her parents house, Lauren felt a heavy lump in her throat. She felt as if it was strangling her, chocking her to death. She took a few deep breaths and knocked.
Thought she knew the door was open, she didn't want to go inside. She waited there until her mother opened the door.
Looking at her daughter, her eyes had dark circles around them. A frown settled on her face upon seeing her daughter in this state.
"Lauren, what's wrong dear? What happened?" She hugged her.
"Nothing mom. Nothing is."
"Surely you can't expect me to believe that. You have circles around your eyes, you're a mess Lauren. And why are you standing at the door instead of getting inside? What did he do to you?"
"Nothing mom. I'm fine. Where's dad?" She asked trying to avoid further questions.
"He's at work. But why aren't you answering my questions. What did he do to you?"
"Mom, I'm leaving. I'm leaving the country."
Silence followed her mother. Looking at her deep in the eye.
"Is it really that bad?" she asked a bit more calm this time.
"More than that."
"I'm sorry, I never trained you for that kind of a situation."
"I'll leave now. Bye."
"Make sure you call me once you arrive," she shed tears and brought her into her embrace one last time. Andy just like that. She pulled her suitcase and headed to the airport.
........
Danny returned to find his father sitting outside under the shade drinking whisky. He looked calm, uncaring of what was happening to him. He approached him and stood next to him, leaning on the chair.
"Tell me father, where is my wife?" He asked with an unpleasant tone. He knew very well that his father was the only one who knew the whereabouts of Lauren.
Harper sipped his tea and looked at him. "She left." He simply answered, uncaring of what state his son was in.
"I know she left, but where is her exert location?"
"There is no need in vaining out your anger on me son. You're the one who mistreated your wife. As I was saying. She left. You lost her."
He sat down trying to digest what his father was telling him.
"Do you why she was sick?"
"That is confidential information son. Lauren made me promise that I shouldn't tell anyone."
"Please dad, just tell me this."
"She would have told you herself. She made plans on how to tell you, but you were never there. You decide to put pleasure first and your wife second."
"It wasn't pleasure. I did it for her."
"If you did it for her, why didn't you tell her. She would have understood. You know how your wife is, she's a gold that needs to be treasured, but you treated her like a rock. Do you how many men are out there wanting, searching for a woman like her. Men who would go and hit the moon for her? I'll leave you to think now. "He stood up, took his cup and phone, then left.
Danny sat there, with his father's words running through his head in circles.
