Forced Marriage (Episode 35)


Chapter 35

"I'm sorry dear." Kim apologied on behalf of Danny but Lauren only smiled. She looked at Kim for a minute. Telling her the news of the pregnancy would made her very happy. She imagined how she would react.

Shaking her head, she thought of telling Danny first. But a question popped right in her mind.

'How was she going to do it? Surprise or just tell him? But when? She didn't know when he would return.'

Lauren joined the rest for dinner. Everyone except Harper and Marcos were confused of her sudden behaviour. They kept on asking themselves questions. But later on, they joined in. 

Lauren went to bed early. She didn't want to have thoughts, nor drif of yo her own universe where the atmosphere took turn rapidly. One moment sunny, then next thunder storm. Or maybe a hurricane. She slept holding her stomach. It was still hard for her to believe that she was actually pregnant since she couldn't feel a thing.

Waking up, Lauren found Danny sleeping besides her. She frowned in shock for a moment but her shock followed with a smile. She turned to his side and looked at him sleeping. She blinked a few times trying to make sure that this wasn't a dream. After all, it was unusual of him to sleep home. Or beside her. 

Lauren felt a bit of nausea and she immediately rushed to the bathroom. She wasn't liking the vomiting part. She looked at herself in the mirror for long while without any emotion, nor question within her. 
 She remembered the questions she had yesterday and remembered Danny's instant changing of everything.

"Maybe a surprise would not do. I'll just tell him straight forward and see how it goes from there. Yeah. Right after he wakes up coz he will surely bite me if I wake him up. Plus, it's been long since I got to see him." she nodded on the agreement she came up on. 

She then refreshed and went downstairs to find everyone already sitted. 

"Good morning," she greeted taking a sit and they all responded warmly.

"Is brother home? I saw his car though the window," Ruby asked. 

"Yes. His sleeping. I don't think he will make it to breakfast." 

"Why am I not surprised," Kim looked at Harper as if he was blami him. 

"Ohhh really mother? So you sure I wouldn't make it?" Everyone got a surprise to see Danny standing by the door staring at them. His atmosphere was different, in a friendly way.

"Speak of the Devel and he shows up." 

"Haha, very funny mom." He neared and sat next to Lauren. Ruby kept on staring at her as if something was wrong.

"Now tell me Danny. Where have you been been these past few days. Do you even know what you did here. You left a mess which we had to clean..."

"Kimberly please," Harper inturupted and Danny's phone rang that very moment. He immediately picked it up and excused himself.

"Umm... Marcos. It's time to go. You too Ruby," Lauren said and both continued to eat faster. The room went quiet for a while, all waiting for Danny to return, and to their luck. He did.

"Hey, do you have a minute. We need to talk about something." Lauren uttered without wasting any more time.

"Can we talk when I return. It's urgent." 

"Again. This is not how I raised you. Failing to give your wife a minute to talk. And I you going to return. Next month. Perhaps next year?"

"I'll see you today at noon. And I won't leave the house again." He kissed Lauren on the cheek and left, surprising Lauren. 

Hearing that, Lauren reconsidered the surprise idea. But she wast sure about it. 

Later she called Kayler to help her plan a little surprise for Danny about the pregnancy, but Kayler didn't pick up. Thinking that she was busy with work, she checked online until she found something that interested her. And as said, she made all the preparations. 

Checking the time, it was still early. Kim and Harper had already left for work. Marcos and Ruby were at school. Leaving her alone. Kayler wasn't picking up her phone. Not having anything to do, she decided to take a nap.

Refreshed knowing that Danny would arrive in a matter of minutes. As always, she wore a simple outfit and went downstairs. Everyone had arrived, but they were still busy with work. 

It reminded her of her own work. And for a moment, she thought about doing something different as well. A small smile crept on her face, reconsidering herself in having to do more than one job. That way she wouldn't be bored at all. She would always have something to do regarding on the location she was in. Though she could still manage to go to work, it felt a bit far and having to travel far distances each day would be exhausting and tiring.

Lauren waited but there was no sign of him returning. Her smile was starting to fade slowly.
Her questions were starting to creep back into her head slowly. 

Looking at the time, it was becoming late. And here, she waited. She rolled her eyes, asking herself why she was hopping to much.

Lauren's phone rang making her frown. She hung up but it rang again. Seems like Aaron wasn't going to stop until she answered.

Placing the phone on her ear, she kept quiet and listened.
"Aren't you tired of waiting baby girl. Don't you want to see what your husband is busy with."

"Is that the reason why you're naggin me Aaron. To tell me shit." 

"It won't be shit once you see it Lauren. I feel sorry for what your husband is doing to you 
I told you he will hurt you." He laughed over the phone. 

"Fine a better gameplay to play. I'm not interested in your games." 

"You don't believe me? I'll send you an address. Make sure you come alone. Then we'll see whose the playing games with who." He hung up. 

It didn't take a minute when an address was sent to Lauren. She laughed at the silliness of Aaron. But again wondered if he was telling the truth.

Lauren kept quiet for long while, but her questions didn't seem to stop. All the questions had maybe in between them.

She ran her hands through her hair. Danny wasn't showing up. The questions were circling in her head with no answers.

She stormed to her room and paced back and forth. She felt her head spinning. Catching a break, she placed her hands on her head, trying to calm herself, telling herself that this was Aaron speaking and Danny wouldn't do such a thing. But all her thoughts were going against her.

Immediately, she changed her outfit and got out of the house. She asked one of the drivers to escort her halfway and gave her a few instructions, then she continued onwards until the location she was sent.

"My love," Aaron hugged Lauren frightening her.

"Aaron, don't you dare touch me again," she pushed him away.

"Alright. I'm sorry. Shall we go inside?" He pointed out to a restaurant that was behind them.

"I haven't come on a date with you. If you think I'm going to believe what you said then you're wrong."

"Hey, chill. I'm not fighting. Since you don't want to accompany me to eat, then let's go. And Lauren...." He looked at her firmly.
